Anomaly Detection in BACnet systems
Meeting 10
Title: Progress metting with Dr. Nuweiri
Date:28/11/2019
Time: 11am
Location: ECEN suite
Attendees: Sofian Ghazali, Rahul Balamurugan, Zahid Kamil, Salah Hessien, Dr. Nuweiri
Absences: None
Meeting Agenda:
Ask Dr. Nuweiri about collecting the BMS dataset from local company
Describe the progress of the project so far
Discussion and Notes:
Sofian was discussing about data collection from the local company. Data collection must go through a lengthy process since company won’t provide the data unless it has consent from Meeza, the IT centre of Qatar Foundation. We consulted with Dr. Nuweiri about this process and he told this process is time-consuming and should not be kept as priority. Dr. Nuweiri recommended generated our own dataset and make an emulator that mimics actual BACnet traffic. Rahul was discussing with Salah about partitioning the BACnet device. This basically means partitioning each device into multiple virtual BACnet devices with their own IP address. However, Salah discouraged the idea since IP address is based on the Ethernet port itself, and so one device can have only one IP address. Zahid mentioned about the idea of LED alert notification on the raspberry pi when data breach takes place. Dr. Nuweiri liked the idea and even mentioned the idea of using IoT to notify alerts.
Next meeting action items:
To generate the dataset by writing the python code
Prepare progress report and presentation slide to be sent to Dr. Nuweiri.
Test the set-up hardware.
